Making Progress

Lots going on in the next few weeks,
Plenty of things to share with you
I have two, allergy friendly, dinner recipes that work for our family and are super good and easy.
Turkey Chilli
and
 Chicken and Lentils

We have some MAJOR progress in the garden!

and also

I have been blessed with more free goodies to sample and review,
so
be on the lookout in the next week or so for my thoughts on
the new Enjoy Life Crunchy Cookies

and
I also received a bag of their Gluten Free baking and pancake mix.
It contains buttermilk, which doesn't work for us... so be expecting a guest post in the near future as well!

But before you get all that,
I need to update you guys on what is happening.

Tuesday we went and saw the allergist.
As we were hoping they agreed to take him of his Flovent.
She wants him to discontinue the steroid and see if we observe any noticeable changes in his appetite or symptoms. If we are doing well in 4 months we will begin re-introducing food,
beginning with gluten.
This will be a long process.
She mentioned doing another gluten sensitivity test on him which can be done by either biopsy or blood work.
He had one done probably a year and a half ago when we were just noticing there was something wrong.   His results to the gluten sensitivity test came back negative as did his gluten allergy test (twice).
So she was curious why he was off gluten.

Can anyone out there please come explain this disease to me?
so now
I begin to second guess myself but remember
this and this and this
all leading up to my decision to take him off gluten.
which resulted in Roe finally wanting to actually eat again.
Wish things were a little more black and white, it seems like we are swimming in a sea of gray.
Every day things change just a little

like Roe has REALLY been wanting his neocate lateley.
He beggs for it and would rather have it than any other juice, water, or food.
A little discouraging, but he is healthy and gaining so what can i say... we are in a good place.

the Sugar Crisps are my fave!!! And I saw somewhere where someone used the vanilla grahams in place of graham crackers for a crust. Sounded yummy.
And I'm so happy for all the positive updates!!! Fingers crossed and prayers said for good results with no steroids!
With the gluten though...I have read blog posts and comments several times where a person tests negative for the allergy, but still has a bad reaction to it...I will try to find them again and pass the info they had on.
xoxo

Oliver has been drinking a lot more Elecare than normal and it worries me that maybe it means something is wrong! Good luck with no flovent!
