Out to lunch

The kids had off school today for a teacher planning day so we decided to embark on a little adventure.

One of the exciting announcements that I mentioned last wednesday is that TA is getting me a new Kiln!
I have taught art, in some capacity for the past 11 years.
I am not teaching in the classroom these days, but I do teach home school art classes and have taught ceramics classes at my house.
Well..... that is until my kiln broke last summer. :(
What a bummer.
Beside the point,  a ceramics connection i have told me about a great deal on a kiln only about 45 minutes from our house.
Adventure Time!

We wanted to make our day a real family fun day so I packed a couple of things that Roe could eat and we were off.
Around 12:30 everybody was feeling a little hungry, we went to a restaurant that TA and I have gone to quite a few times, right on the intercoastal, beautiful setting.
Thought I would get R a fruit cup to complete his allergy friendly meal.
no fruit
I did see applesauce on the menu,
You won't believe this..... they put BUTTER in the applesauce.
ewwwwwwwwww, is that normal? butter in applesauce?
We scrapped that idea, and headed down the road, huge bummer.
We figured in we couldn't find anything else we could always do chik-fil-a.

And there ahead we saw it....

Now, you know i was just researching the menu here and we were ecstatic to find one right on our way home.
The menu was pretty much bar food.
The atmosphere was nice, seating inside and out, and lots of TVs, I can imagine it gets pretty full when there is some sort of sporting event on.

I have to admit there wasn't anything to healthy on the menu.
But this was about a fun family lunch.
I got the fish tacos, which were good, but also fried.  TA got the wings and loved them.

Roe got his first ever kids meal and loved every second of eating his real restaurant meal along with his brother.
The server was able to bring me a food allergy menu that was so comprehensive and even mentioned when MSG was used.
Now, I did happen to mention that we have food allergies possibly 10 times
but 9 hours later i have a happily sleeping boy.
Without any sort of allergy or EOE symptoms!
